This policy explains how Crackly's Biltong & Delights ("Crackly's", "we") collects and uses your personal information when you visit shop.cracklys.co.za or buy from us. We process personal information in line with South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

What we collect
- Order details: your name, email address, phone number, delivery and billing address, and what you ordered.
- Payment: payments are handled by our payment providers (such as Paystack). We don't see or store your full card details.
- Account details: if you sign in, your login email and order history.
- How you use the site: pages viewed, products added to cart, device and browser type, approximate location and how you arrived (for example from an ad or email), collected with cookies and similar tools.
- Messages: anything you send us by email, phone or our forms.
How we use it
- To process, pack and deliver your order, and to send order and delivery updates.
- To answer your questions and handle returns.
- To prevent fraud and keep the shop secure.
- To understand how the shop is used and improve it.
- To send marketing emails and offers, only if you've agreed to receive them. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link.
- To show relevant ads on platforms like Facebook, Instagram and Google.
Who we share it with
We only share what each service needs to do its job:
- Shopify runs our online shop and sends our emails.
- Payment providers (such as Paystack) process payments.
- Fastway Couriers delivers your order and receives your name, address and phone number.
- PostHog helps us understand how people use the site, including session recordings.
- Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and Google measure and show our ads.
Some of these providers store information outside South Africa. We use providers that protect personal information to a standard comparable to POPIA. We never sell your personal information.
Cookies
We use cookies to keep your cart and checkout working, remember your preferences, measure site use and measure our ads. You can block or delete cookies in your browser; the cart and checkout may not work without the essential ones.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for as long as the law requires for tax and accounting (generally 5 years), and other information only as long as we need it for the purposes above.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you the personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it for marketing. Email biltong@cracklys.co.za and we'll respond within 30 days. If you're unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa): inforegulator.org.za.
Children
Our shop isn't aimed at children under 18, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
